Behind The Caviary 

Hi I'm Danika, an artist and passionate enthusiast of adorable guinea pigs. I have immersed myself in the world of guinea pigs, honing my skills and knowledge to provide the best care and breeding practices for these furry companions. 

 

Showing guinea pigs started in 2019 when I got my first pedigree sheltie and texel cavies. 

exhibiting allows me to showcase the charming and unique qualities of different guinea pig breeds. I was a recent winner of Best In Show at the 2023 Sydney Royal Easter Show as well as multiple reserve in shows, Best in groups and Best of breeds. Beyond exhibiting I now breed and specialise in the longhaired breeds as well as a variety of self cavies. The welfare and well-being of my guinea pigs are always my top priority, and I take pride in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for them.

I am a self taught photographer and artist, I love the creative process of capturing the personality of pets using oil paints, mixed media, digital drawings and photography. My drawing of Dragon Utopia received 2nd prize at the 2018 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Currently I enjoy creating custom artworks of people's beloved pets.
